How to lay artificial grass
First, mark the area using pegs and string. Dig the area to approximately 10cm deep at the edges and 75mm deep in the centre. Install timber edging boards to hold the sides of the excavated area back. Spray the area with weedkiller and layer anti-weed fabric and sharp sand, compacted using a large flat plank or plate compactor until level with edging. Unroll the artificial grass, cut it to size with a sharp knife and join any sections using self-adhesive joining tape. Secure the faux grass to your edging boards using clout nails at 300mm intervals. Finally, brush with a stiff broom to remove any debris and encourage the fibres to stand upright.
